Simon Green, much better known as Bonobo, has just announced a new album, Migration, and shared the first single off it , titled “Kerala”. The LP (out January 13) is a follow-up to 2013’s The Norths Borders. It features some fine guests on it, including Rhye or Nick Murphy (fka Chet Faker). So here’s something to look forward to in the new year!
The “Kerala” video was directed by Bison and it stars Gemma Arterton.

Massive Attack recently teamed up with Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star) for a new track , The Spoils, and now they also released a follow up video for it, starring Cate Blanchett.
The clip directed by John Hillcoat shows Blanchett’s head being gradually and slowly transformed until it turns into stone. As sad and deconstructive as this process might look like, along with the angelic Hope’s vocals, it actually leaves you with some sort of a resurrection feeling. Tempting to say, a Hope feeling.
The Spoils was released along with another song, Come Near Me, on Massive Attack’s new 2-track EP.
South African rap-rave duo Die Antwoord have just shared a new video for ‘Ugly Boy’ from their latest album Donker Mag. Apart from Ninja and Yo-Landi-Vi$$er, the creepy video features an array of cameos including Marilyn Manson, Flea, Jack Black, Dita Von Teese, The ATL twins and Cara Delevingne. Too bad it’s already post Halloween!
Some new stuff from Jamie XX, the track written while he was on tour with The XX last year and apparently felt a bit homesick for London life. The new steel-drum-based track is a bit heavier than previously shared ‘Sleep Sound’ or ‘Girl‘, but it definitely spreads some addictive “London” vibe around.
Major Lazer and Sean Paul released a video for ‘Come on to Me’. Japanese-themed clip features women dancing in colorful geisha outfits and men playing taiko drums. Impressive choreography and massive drum power!
Known for her nonconventional, freaky videos tUnE-yArDs, doesn’t disappoint this time either. Watch here the new, colorful clip for ‘Water Fountain’ from her upcoming album Nikki Nack (out May 6). Very creative girl, no doubt about it 🙂
New video from the quirky Swedish pop singer Elliphant. ‘Revolusion’ is her latest single to be found on her upcoming EP ‘Look Like You Love It’ (out April 1). Creepy, very Die Antwoord like. She definitely has a power though 🙂 + Free Download
Neneh Cherry has teamed up with another Swedish music icon Robyn and here is the fruit of that collaboration. ‘Out Of The Black’ is the lead single on Neneh’s new album ‘Blank Project’ (produced by Four Tet), her first solo LP since 1996. The urban collage video was created by artist Dario Vigorito, aka 241-24-7.
Hilarious, animated video from Flume for ‘Space Cadet’ recorded together with Ghostface Killah and Autre Ne Veut. The song appears on the upcoming (April 15th) deluxe edition of this young Australian producer’s debut album released last year. Nicely surreal, colorful cartoon 🙂
Australian female rapper Iggy Azalea and British singer Charli XCX have teamed up and recorded ‘Fancy’ to pay tribute to the ’90s legendary ‘Clueless” film. The song itself might leave something to be desired, but the videoclip is worth watching to recall some classic movie’s scenes.
Broke For Free (Tom Cascino) is just about to release an album with some nice collaborations on it. Here’s the 3rd track from the forthcoming LP ‘Petal’ (out this spring), ‘Tropicks’. Delicate beats and subtle melodic tune, delicious! Feels like in Tropics, really.
Swedish synthpop band, Little Dragon, have shared the first of two music videos for ‘Klapp Klapp’, which is the lead single from their forthcoming album, ‘Nabuma Rubberband’. Zombie-themed, supernatural video was directed by Taylor Cohen. Nabil, the creative director of this clip, will also take care of the second one.
‘Nabuma Rubberband’ is the first quartet’s LP after 2011’s ‘Ritual Union’. The record will be out May 13 in the U.S. and May 12 in the UK.
Major Lazer teamed up with Pharrell for their new single ‘Aerosol Can’. The rhymes dropped by the multi-Grammy Award winner Pharrell sound quite efortless, still perfectly fit in the danceable drum beat. Monkey outside bumbum bumbum!
The song will appear on Major Lazer’s new 5-track EP ‘Apocalypse Soon’ which releases on Feb 25.
‘APOCALYPSE SOON’ TRACKLISTING:
1. Aerosol Can (feat. Pharrell Williams)
2. Come On To Me (feat. Sean Paul)
3. Sound Bang (feat. Machel Montano)
4. Lose Yourself (feat. RDX & Moska)
5. Dale Asi (feat. Mr. Fox)
New video from quite popular recently duo Eminem & Rihanna for ‘The Monster’. Disturbed patient and sexy therapist are nothing really innovative, but Rihanna’s boobs always seem to be a recipe for success. Alright then 🙂 Video was directed by Rich Lee.
Ok, I’ve never been a massive Eminem fan, but just can’t negate there’s something interesting about this man. His recent album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP2’ is just another proof of it. The rapper can’t seem to get enough and after over 20 years on the stage, still surprises with the high standard hip hop. Check out the new video for ‘Rap God’. It definitely deserves some attention, even if your heart doesn’t belong to the rap world. Why be a king when you can be a god? Perfectly suitable, Eminem, well done.
The new Kanye West’s video was definitely ‘BOUND 2’ be spoofed quickly. The ridiculous imagery of the rapper on a moving motorcycle, simulating sex with Kim Kardashian, has already become the hit of the internet. And has just been parodied by James Franco and Seth Rogen who recreated the whole video shot for shot. It’s hilarious 🙂
Does anybody remember Neneh Cherry? The Swedish singer comes back with the new solo album ‘Blank Project’ (first in the last 16 years!). It will be released Feb 25th 2014, but you can already check out the title track.
