The American singer Conor Oberst (known mostly from the indie band Bright Eyes) has just announced his new solo album ‘Upside Down Mountain’ (out May 20). Listen to ‘Hundreds of Ways’ off the upcoming LP. Nicely country ish.

To keep up the Valentine’s mood, here’s the magnificent video from The National for ‘I Need My Girl’ from their latest album, ‘Trouble Will Find Me’. The romantic, black & white visual was directed by Sophia Peer. May love be with you! ❤ 🙂

The Notwist – Kong [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

Another fantastic video, this time from the German electronic / indie rock band, the Notwist. ‘Kong’ is coming from their new album ‘Close to the Glass’ (out Feb 24).

The animated video is said to be “based on a true story that involved Marcus Acher and his family who got trapped in their home during an Ammer River flood in Weilheim, Germany. The young Acher was secretly hoping that a superhero would save his family as the waters rose around them.”

The clip was directed by Yu Sato and the illustrations were designed by Tim Divall.

Black Lips – Justice After All

After ‘Boys In The Wood’, Black Lips now shared another single from their upcoming album. The track is called ‘Justice After All’ and it spreads nice, country vibe around.

The new record, titled ‘Underneath the Rainbow’ will be released on March 18. It was co-produced by Patrick Carney from The Black Keys. Black Power!

Anna Calvi – Piece By Piece (Official Video)


New song and video from English art rock musician, Anna Calvi. ‘Piece By Piece’ is the next single off her second album, ‘One Breath’ (out on March 31). This girl is clearly not afraid of guitar experiments which, along with her unique voice, always makes her tracks somehow special.

The video was directed by Mathy & Fran.

Arctic Monkeys – All My Loving (Beatles cover) live

Last weekend Arctic Monkeys played Madison Square Garden in New York. Since it was also the 50th anniversary of when The Beatles showed up on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’, Arctic Monkeys paid tribute to their British friends and covered ‘All My Loving’. Far from the legend, but there’s something about it.

Nice, new stuff from Brighton based alt-rock duo Blood Red Shoes. ‘An Animal’ is a new song taken from their most recent self-titled album. Awesome track and funny video. Especially recommended to Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian fans!

Damon Albarn – Everyday Robots (Official Video)


Damon Albarn’s first solo album ‘Everyday Robots’ is coming out 28th April and here is the video for the lead single and title track. The new album is said to be the most autobiographical record made yet by Albarn. The English musician, mostly known as a frontman of Blur, also invited to collaboration guests like Brian Eno and Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes).

The video was directed by the artist and designer Aitor Throup and edited by Giorgio Gremigni (The Butchers).

Beck is back, Ladies and Gentlemen! After 6 years of silence the American musician is about to release his new album ‘Morning Phase’ (out Feb 25th). Here is one of the tracks you will find there, ‘Blue Moon’. The song is also a part of the soundtrack for the new ‘Girls’ season.

Bombay Bicycle Club – Luna


A little bit of Sunday swimming excersice with the English indie band, Bombay Bicycle Club and their most recent song ‘Luna’. No Bombay and no bicycles here, but who cares. It’s good.

St. Vincent – Digital Witness (OFFICIAL AUDIO)


The American singer, St. Vincent, aka Annie Clark, has released another track from her self-titled fourth album. Listen to ‘Digital Witness’ here. And no, you are not drunk – the image is slightly moving along with the song.

St Vincent is out February 24 in the UK and February 25 in the U.S.

Bruce Springsteen – High Hopes

Bruce Sprinsgsteen is just about to release his new album (Jan 14th), titled ‘High Hopes’. It’s a compilation of material recorded over the past years and never published before, including the cover of Suicide’s ‘Dream Baby Dream’. It also features great contributions from Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) and Clarence Clemons (aka The Big Man).

The band from Oklahoma have just released their own, alternative interpretation of the old, The Beatles’ hit ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’. And despite all the criticism about it and actually quite an impressive number of The Flaming Lips haters , I like it a lot 🙂

The Oh Hellos – The Oh Hellos’ Family Christmas Album

If you’re sick and tired of Chris Rea, Mariah Carey and Michael Buble, here’s something new for Christmas. The Oh Hello’s are a folk band from Texas who just released their EP ‘Family Christmas Album’ with 4, nicely refreshing Xmas songs: ‘Rejoice! Rejoice!, ‘Begin and Never Cease’, ‘Silent Night, Holy Night’ and ‘Every Bell on Earth Will Ring’.

Songhoy Blues – Soubour


Great african vibes in the new video for ‘Soubour’ by Malian band Songhoy Blues in collaboration with Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The record comes from ‘Africa Express Presents: Maison Des Jeunes’ – the album made collectively by African and Western musicians.

The full record is set to be out December 9th and, next to Zinner, it features artists such as Brian Eno, Damon Albarn (Blur), Olugbenga Adelekan (Metronomy), David Maclean (Django Django), Holy Other, Lil Silva, Cid Rim, Two Inch Punch and more.

Definitely something to follow up on!
