Soul singer Bobby Caldwell and producer Jack Splash just teamed up to create a really cool duo, with a really cool name, Cool Uncle. And what’s even more cool here is their new single, Break Away, with some lovely contribution from Jessie Ware. The full album will be out November 13 and I’m pretty convinced it will be f*cking cool!
What a happy Friday morning! Jamie xx has just shared a video for his latest (and how beautiful!) single ‘Loud Places’ (featuring The xx’s lovely Romy Madley Croft). The song forms part of his debut solo album, In Colour, (out June 1st). The LP will include his previous singles ‘Sleep Sound’, ‘Girl’ and some tracks recorded in collaboration with other artists like Four Tet or Young Thug. How delightful! ❤
My beloved British Django Django are finally back with the second album Born Under Saturn (out May 5th) and here’s the brand new video for the first released comeback single ‘First Light’. Not my favorite visuals, but the dynamic psychedelic tune surely makes up for less important little flaws. Class!
Pink Floyd have released the video for ‘Louder Than Words’ from their new LP, The Endless River. This closing track is the only one with a vocal and lyrics on the instrumental album and most likely it’s the last song the band ever recorded. The surreal video directed by Po Powell mixes the footage shot at the Aral Sea between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan with black-and-white images of the band recording in the studio. Must hear, must watch, must remember!
Wohoo! Long-awaited Kasabian’s album ’48:13′ will finally drop on June 9. The band have just released a video for their brand new single off it, ‘Eez-eh’. Check it out here. Gonna keep you up all night! Or day 🙂
The former White Stripes frontman Jack White has announced his new, second solo album (follow-up to 2012’s Blunderbuss). It’s titled Lazaretto and it’s set to be released on June 10. Listen here to the first taste off it, an instrumental ‘High Ball Stepper’. Massive guitar sound!
The album’s first single should come out later in April.
Yet another talented British dj, Lockah, is about to release his debut album and here’s a little preview of it. Fabulous game of balearic synths and drifting melody. 4,45 min of holiday, you can afford it 🙂
The full 45-minute album, which consists of 13 tracks, will be out on April 14th.
After 2 years since a great success of her last LP (‘Wounded Rhymes’), Swedish singer Lykke Li, announced her new album, ‘I Never Learn’, to be released on May 5. Here’s a little teaser 🙂
Damon Albarn’s first solo album ‘Everyday Robots’ is coming out 28th April and here is the video for the lead single and title track. The English musician, mostly known as a frontman of Blur, also invited to collaboration guests like Brian Eno and Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes).
The video was directed by the artist and designer Aitor Throup and edited by Giorgio Gremigni (The Butchers).

Bruce Sprinsgsteen is just about to release his new album (Jan 14th), titled ‘High Hopes’. It’s a compilation of material recorded over the past years and never published before, including the cover of Suicide’s ‘Dream Baby Dream’. It also features great contributions from Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) and Clarence Clemons (aka The Big Man).
Listen the title track ‘High Hopes’ here and stream the full LP on the website for the television show ‘The Good Wife‘ (the Jan 12th episode will feature 3 songs from the album: ‘High Hopes’, ‘Hunter of Invisible Game’ and ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’).
Does anybody remember Neneh Cherry? The Swedish singer comes back with the new solo album ‘Blank Project’ (first in the last 16 years!). It will be released Feb 25th 2014, but you can already check out the title track.
So, here it is! The full (long awaited!) album by Metronomy, “Love Letters” is to be released on March 10th 2014, but the first single from it, “I’m Aquarius” is already out. Definitely worth a listen 🙂
