Slowdive – Star Roving

Slowdive are back! The band from Reading, England, have just unleashed their first new song in the 22 years, “Star Roving”. And a new album is on the way later this year through Dead Oceans. On their Facebook page, Slowdive wrote:

When the band decided to get back together in 2014 we really wanted to make new music. It’s taken us a whole load of shows and a few false starts to get to that point, but it’s with pride and a certain trepidation we unleash “Star Roving”. We really hope folks enjoy it, it’s part of a bunch of new tracks we’ve been working on and it feels as fun, and as relevant playing together now as it did when we first started.

Slowdive split in 1995, shortly after releasing their last album, Pygmalion. They came back together in 2014 for a summer world tour, and in 2016 they announced they were working on a new album.

Blood Orange – Do You See My Skin Through The Flames?

New song from Blood Orange is a masterpiece of its kind. The atmospheric ambient filled with smoky sax, jazzy piano and dreamy synth makes a perfect background for an important message. In the lyrics, Dev Hynes talks about racism. violence and the Charleston massacre. 11 minutes of a very personal, touching and beautiful track. Worth listening.

Jens Buchert – Smoorland / Sundance Mix

Known as a “Sound Wizard”, the German producer Jens Buchert has shared a new piece of his mystical music. ‘Sundance Mix’ is a delicate ambient which takes you on a metaphysical journey. Gorgoeus, chilling tune.

Inventions – Entity

In case you haven’t heard it yet, here’s something absolutely magnificent. Mark Smith (Explosions in the Sky guitarist) and composer Matthew Cooper, a.k.a. Eluvium, have created a new band called Inventions. ‘Entity’ comes from their self-titled LP which is set to be released quite soon, on April 1st. Wonderful, space, dreamy experimental ambient. If you ever got blown away by Sigur Rós, you’ll love it.
