Blur – There Are Too Many of Us

Oh, there they are! Blur, yes, Blur with their new, yes, new song! ‘There Are Too Many Of Us’ is the second released single off their upcoming, long, long-awaited album, The Magic Whip (out 27 April). Mild, tender, nearly metaphysical – sounds like the album will be a very nice step out of britpop into some space, alternative rock.

Django Django – First Light (Official Video)

My beloved British Django Django are finally back with the second album Born Under Saturn (out May 5th) and here’s the brand new video for the first released comeback single ‘First Light’. Not my favorite visuals, but the dynamic psychedelic tune surely makes up for  less important little flaws. Class!

Pink Floyd – Louder Than Words

1

Pink Floyd have released the video for ‘Louder Than Words’ from their new LP, The Endless River. This closing track is the only one with a vocal and lyrics on the instrumental album and most likely it’s the last song the band ever recorded. The surreal video directed by Po Powell mixes the footage shot at the Aral Sea between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan with black-and-white images of the band recording in the studio. Must hear, must watch, must remember!

Alt-J – Hunger Of The Pine

After an incredible success of their debut album, The Awesome Wave, the English outfit Alt-J now return with a new LP, This Is All Yours (out Sept 22). Listen to the first single off it, ‘Hunger of the Pine’, which features a sample of Miley Cyrus singing ‘I’m a female rebel’ from her ‘4×4’ song. Classic smoky tune.

Anna Calvi, David Byrne – Strange Weather (Official Video)

English singer Anna Calvi and David Byrne (Talking Heads) teamed up to record a cover of ‘Strange Weather’, originally by Keren Ann. The song will be released on 14th July as a part of the 5 track covers EP, produced by Thomas Bartlett, who previously collaborated with bands such as The National i Antony and the Johnsons. Haunting cover and you will definitely hear strong Anna Calvi’s influence here.

Django Django – Porpoise Song (Late Night Tales)

The boys from Django Django are not idling time away. While working on their second album they found time to record a nice cover of ‘Porpoise Song’ (originally by The Monkees from 1968). Gentle psychedelic journey. And those vocals! Beautiful. ❤

The song will be released on the band’s ‘Late Night Tales’ mix, which comes out on May 12.
